Creative_Destruction-Un-Coding

Led by Yaniv Shonfeld.

Through Trial and error we will explore the different reactions a computer has to voluntarily corrupting images, videos and audio file, we will create beautiful images and audio visual effects by making our computers go β€œglitchy lala.”

We will learn how to β€œData-mosh” β€”β€”> moshing is a technique that allows us to use some information from compressed video files in order to displace pixels in a weird way .

And β€œData-bend” ——–> in general , bending is the term used for changing the content of electric circuits and digitall files to a level were they are still functional but diferently .

Also, we will have a brief view and explanation of Nick Briz’s linux distro β€œthe Glitch Codec.”

Yaniv Schonfeld is an interdisciplinary artist working with sound and stage. In his work he uses the discipline of theater, it’s philosophies and theories, as a basis for creating unique musical performances that are neither concerts nor music theater in the traditional sense. Yaniv’s practice focuses heavily on the building of and use of self-constructed instruments which are treated as objects that can be actuated on a stage. The instruments themselves become actors that are part of a unraveling theatrical dynamic between performer, musical object and audience.
